1. Promoter
1.1 The promoter is Steam Mill Lodges, Canal Street, Oakthorpe, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE12 7RD (the Promoter).
1.2 The Promoter’s website is https://steam-mill-lodges.co.uk/.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom.
2.2 Entrants must be aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
2.3 Multiple entries are permitted, up to a maximum of five (5) eligible entries per person per platform. Each tag of a different person counts as one entry, up to this maximum. Tags of the same person, or beyond the maximum, won’t count.
2.4 Entrants must be able to book and take the prize within the validity period set out in these terms.
2.5 No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Entry is free of charge.
3. Entry Period
3.1 The competition opens at 12:00 noon on Sunday 1 November 2026 and closes at 11:59pm on Monday 30 November 2026, UK local time (the Entry Period).
3.2 Entries received outside the Entry Period will not be eligible.
4. How to Enter
4.1 To enter, an entrant must, during the Entry Period:
a. follow @SteamMillLodges on the social media platform used to enter;
b. like the relevant giveaway post;
c. comment on that post and tag one or more different people; and
d. share (optional) the giveaway post on the platform used to enter.
4.2 All entry requirements must be completed during the Entry Period. The Promoter may ask an entrant to provide reasonable evidence that they completed the required steps.
4.3 Incomplete, illegible, invalid or late entries will not be eligible.
4.4 The competition will be promoted and entries accepted through the Promoter’s official Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. An entrant may enter on each platform by completing the requirements in clause 4.1 on that platform. Each tag of a different person counts as one entry, up to a maximum of five (5) entries per person per platform; the same person tagged by the same entrant on more than one platform will count only once.
5. Prize
5.1 One winner will receive a two-night midweek stay for two adults at Oak Lodge, Steam Mill Lodges (the Prize).
5.2 The Prize includes accommodation for two nights, access to Oak Lodge’s private hot tub and the lodge’s standard amenities as described on the Promoter’s website.
5.3 The Prize is accommodation only and does not include:
a. travel to or from the accommodation;
b. meals or additional services;
c. personal expenses;
d. travel insurance; or
e. any dog fee or other charge associated with bringing a dog.
5.4 The approximate value of the Prize is between £470 and £525, depending on the dates selected.
5.5 The Prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. No cash alternative is available.
6. Prize Restrictions and Booking
6.1 The Prize is subject to availability in Oak Lodge and must be taken between 1 December 2026 and 31 March 2027, inclusive, excluding the peak dates set out in clause 6.5. Booking dates are subject to availability and must be agreed with the Promoter in advance. The entire stay must be completed by 31 March 2027.
6.2 The stay is midweek only. Neither night of the stay may fall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
6.3 The stay is subject to the Promoter’s standard booking terms, available at https://steam-mill-lodges.co.uk/. The accommodation is adults-only; no person under 18 may stay.
6.4 Once the booking dates are confirmed, they cannot be changed or amended by the winner. The Prize booking cannot be rescheduled or cancelled by the winner.
6.5 The Prize cannot be used during peak periods, including:
a. Valentine’s week;
b. Easter week;
c. bank holidays in England and Wales;
d. the Christmas and New Year period from 23 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, inclusive; and
e. summer peak dates identified in the Promoter’s booking calendar when the winner makes their booking.
6.6 Oak Lodge is dog-friendly. Any dog must be included in the booking in accordance with the Promoter’s standard booking terms, and any applicable dog fee is payable by the winner.
6.7 A refundable security deposit is required when the winner books. It will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s standard booking terms and may be subject to deductions permitted by those terms.
7. Winner Selection
7.1 One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period, using a verifiably random selection process.
7.2 The winner will be selected within seven days after the competition closes and will be announced no later than Monday 7 December 2026.
7.3 The Promoter’s decision on the administration of the competition and selection of the winner is final, subject to applicable law.
8. Winner Notification
8.1 The winner will be contacted and announced through the official Steam Mill Lodges social media account on the platform through which they entered, within seven days of selection.
8.2 The winner must respond and claim the Prize within seven days of the Promoter’s initial contact.
8.3 If the winner cannot be contacted, does not claim the Prize within the required period, or is ineligible, the Promoter may select an alternative winner at random from the remaining eligible entries.
8.4 The winner may be asked to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the competition. Participation in additional publicity, such as photographs or video, is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving the Prize.
9. General Terms
9.1 The Promoter may verify the eligibility of entrants and may disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these terms or who provides inaccurate information.
9.2 The Promoter may cancel, suspend or amend the competition only where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary. Any change will be made only to the extent reasonably necessary and will not unfairly disadvantage entrants who have already entered. The Promoter will communicate any change through its official social media accounts.
9.3 Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the competition may result in disqualification and, where appropriate, legal action.
9.4 Automated entry software and other mechanical or electronic methods that enable repeated or fraudulent entries are prohibited. Entries generated by such means may be disqualified.
9.5 The Promoter will never ask an entrant to pay money or provide payment-card or other financial details to enter or claim the Prize. Entrants should only interact with the Promoter’s official social media accounts and should beware of fraudulent pages or imitation competitions. The Promoter is not responsible for losses caused by third-party scams or impersonation, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
9.6 The competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. By entering, entrants release those platforms from responsibility in connection with the competition to the extent permitted by law.
9.7 These terms do not affect any rights entrants may have under applicable law.
10. Liability
10.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10.2 Subject to clause 10.1 and to the extent permitted by law, the Promoter’s total liability to an entrant in connection with the competition will not exceed the approximate value of the Prize.
10.3 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete due to technical failures or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
10.4 Subject to clause 10.1 and to the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for loss or damage arising from an entrant’s or winner’s participation in the competition or use of the Prize, except where caused by the Promoter’s breach of these terms, negligence or other act or omission for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Data Protection
11.1 Personal data will be processed in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, available at https://steam-mill-lodges.co.uk/.
11.2 The Promoter will use entrants’ personal data to administer the competition, verify entries, contact the winner and arrange delivery of the Prize. Personal data will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to administer or fulfil the Prize, or where required by law.
11.3 The Promoter will not use entry to sign an entrant up to marketing communications.
11.4 The Promoter may publish the winner’s surname or social media handle and county in connection with announcing the result. An entrant may object to publication by contacting the Promoter before the Entry Period closes. The Promoter may provide the winner’s details to the Advertising Standards Authority or other relevant regulator if required to demonstrate that the competition was properly administered.
11.5 Entrants may request access to or correction or deletion of their personal data by contacting the Promoter through the contact details on its website. These rights are subject to applicable law, including any legal obligations requiring the Promoter to retain information.
12. Governing Law
12.1 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising in connection with them, subject to any mandatory rights an entrant may have under applicable law.
12.2 If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
