What a lovely place to spend some quality quiet time. The Lodge was one of the cleanest places I have stayed. The Lodge was very well equipped. Staff and the owner are. Very pleasant people who can't help out enough. Will be staying here again.

Just got back from a cute little staycation here for my husbands birthday, we stayed in the Spindle lodge. The lodge is beautiful and the view is incredible. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and went down a treat. It’s a really peaceful location. I would definitely recommend one of these lodges for a couples getaway. There’s a little public footpath not far which is perfect for a little woodland stroll.

We also decided to visit the local zoo which was a really good day out, also not a far drive from the location of the lodges.

Had an incredible stay at Steam Mill Lodges. We were in Rowan Lodge and it was perfect, absolutely everything you could need: fully stocked Kitchen with a breakfast hamper, lovely dining and living area, and Smart TVs in each room! Our Lodge also had a hot tub, pool table and Darts along with the outdoor seating, it was perfect for a birthday getaway which they provide thoughtful upgrades for. We want to thank you so much for our stay! Everything was absolutely perfect, every detail is thought of in the parlour lodge, from hooks for towels, everything you need in the kitchen including soap, dishwasher tablets to shower supplies ect, to the spa being perfect temperature, comfy bed, blankets and beautiful view. So quiet, tranquil and peaceful with hints of fun from pool to darts.

The communication throughout the whole process from before booking right till check out was amazing. I emailed a good few many times asking a question or two, looking for recommendations and nothing seemed to much trouble, happy to answer and quick to respond. Everything you would want and more in service given.
Being a place of tranquility and peace, arriving using a code, pulling up and then walking straight to your lodge was perfect, and as much of a people person I personally am something felt so luxurious about not even seeing another person, in fact even though the car park was full of cars, I don’t think we saw one person till 2 days into our stay and then not again till the last day.

This must be our 6th or 7th time staying at Steam-mill-lodges, stayed in Buttercup Lodge this time round ( slowly working our way through all of them 😂 ), and it never disappoints. The lodges themselves are to a very high standard with everything you need for your stay, with the excellent addition of the dart board and pool table, who doesnt enjoy a game! Relaxing views while soaking in the hot tub, walks around the lake, and all round helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, really makes for a wonderful stay. Had a visit to the Halfway House for sunday lunch which was stunning, would highly recommend if you didnt fancy cooking. One of our best breaks away ever. We spent our anniversary here and paid for a romantic package which was worth the money - balloons, petals and candles on arrival. The hosts pretty much leave you to it which is lovely if you prefer the quiet. But we did run into a problem with our pool table but emailed the hosts and within five minutes someone was round and was really helpful to sort the issue.
